Main Office: Patients with neurological disorders have been seen by the physicians of Western Neurological Associates, PC, in Salt Lake City, Utah, since 1970. The main office and neurology clinic moved to its present location in 1979. The company built the Imaging Center in 1987.

Neurology Clinic: Michael L. Goldstein, MD, (neurologist/pediatric neurologist) and Walter H. Reichert, MD, (neurologist) see patients for initial neurological consultation and followup at this clinic with the help of their midlevel providers. An appointment can generally be scheduled within a week or two. Dr. Goldstein is the only pediatric neurologist in the Salt Lake City area outside of Primary Children's Hospital. He sees both children and adults. Dr. Reichert sees patients 18 yearsof age and older.

Neurological conditions often require additional testing beyond the initial consultation. Western Neurological physicians may order MRI or CT scans, EEG tests, EMG/NCV tests, and lumbar punctures; all of which are performed on site (patients may choose to have testing done at another facility).

Scheduling a neurological consultation: Neurology is that specialty concerned with the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the nervous system (the brain, spinal cord, and nerves of the arms and legs). Neurological problems include headaches, backaches, neck pain, pain radiating from the neck or back into the arms or legs, numbness and/or tingling, muscle weakness, convulsions, loss of consciousness, and dementia.

Scheduling a child/adolescent neurological consultation: In general, aChild neurological consultation person under 18 is seen by a child neurologist. Neurological problems more specific to children/adolescents include headaches, neck pain, back pain, arm and leg numbness and tingling, developmental delay, staring spells or convulsions, tics, hyperactivity and/or attention deficit, concussion due to head injury, and sport's related injuries. Medical records: For a complete copy of one's medical records, a signed request may be mailed, faxed, or dropped off at the office. Five to ten working days should be allowed. Test or lab results may be picked up at any time with a signed request. Medical Release Form
