
About the Multiple Sclerosis Center: Western Neurological Associates, PC, in Salt Lake City, Utah, has been at the forefront of Multiple Sclerosis (MS) care in Utah for over 30 years. In 2001, WNA opened its Multiple Sclerosis Center, providing a comprehensive and advanced treatment center for Multiple Sclerosis in one center. Besides the spacious waiting room and large patient treatment room, the center contains a patient library, and comfortable exam rooms. Ample room is available to perform additional procedures used in the diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis such as EEGs, EMGs, and lumbar punctures (spinal taps). The Multiple Sclerosis Center also has direct access to WNA's Imaging Center with its recently upgraded MRI and CT scanners.

Scheduling
an appointment at the Multiple Sclerosis Center: Multiple
sclerosis involves inflammation within the central nervous system (the
brain and spinal
cord), followed by demyelination (loss of the protective myelin sheaths
which
surround nerve fibers) and loss of axonal function. The most prevalent
symptoms associated with Multiple Sclerosis are vision loss, memory loss
and trouble thinking, double vision, numbness or tingling. Also included
in the prevalent symptoms connected with Multiple Sclerosis are
weakness, unsteady
gait, fatigue, heat intolerance, partial or complete paralysis, and electric
shock sensations when bending the neck. These symptoms of Multiple Sclerosis
may come and go over a period of time or remain present. Multiple Sclerosis

Medical records: For a complete copy of one's medical records on file at the Multiple Sclerosis Center, a signed request may be mailed, faxed, or dropped off at the office. Five to ten working days should be allowed. Test, imaging, or lab results alone may be picked up at the Multiple Sclerosis Center at any time with a signed request.
