The Western Neurological Associates Neurology  Clinic

Setting a New Standard for Neurological Care

Neurology focuses on diagnosing and treating disorders affecting the brain, spinal cord, and peripheral nerves. Western Neurological Associates has brought together a unique team of specialists to address this wide array of conditions.

Each patient receives a thorough evaluation including a complete health history, physical and neurological exams, social and family history and much more. Our neurologists may also use one or more of the following tests to assess the patient's condition:

  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) –Provides the most advanced imaging speed and quality available in a procedure that is fast, uses no ionizing radiation (x-rays) and is essentially free of any discomfort.
  • Computed Tomography (CT)– CT Imaging is fast and provides exceptional information regarding the lungs, internal organs and bony (skeletal) structures.  Every CT scan we performed is optimized to minimize radiation (x-ray) exposure to the patient.
  • Electroencephalogram (EEG) – This painless test is used to diagnose neurological disorders in adults and children by measuring electrical activity in the brain through application of electrodes placed on the scalp.
  • 24-hour Ambulatory EEG – Uses a small digital recorder and electrodes applied to the scalp. Patients conduct their normal activities and use a diary to record brain wave activity over a 24-hour period.
  • Lumbar Puncture (Spinal Tap) – Used to obtain a sample of cerebral spinal fluid for analysis, which can help pinpoint certain neurological conditions.

Once the patient’s condition is pinpointed, the WNA neurology team develops a customized treatment plan and refers to other specialists as needed. Through every step our neurologists provide a level of expertise that will inspire your confidence, and genuine compassion that will ensure your ultimate comfort.
